Fast Fashion PSA
The fast fashion industry has an environmental impact on a scale many may not realize, making it a strong topic for a public service announcement. My task for this was to create a 30-second motion graphic with a clear call to action. It had to use rhetoric, reliable research, and motion design to convince the viewer to take action in the real world.
To accomplish this, I found compelling facts and reasonable changes anyone could implement. I went through the whole production process, from pitching an idea and storyboard to creating a rough draft and final presentation. I used the facts, overwhelming visuals, visuals of solutions, pacing, and audio design to achieve a convincing and beautiful result.

For the visual elements of this piece, I got to show off my style in a way that fit the task. I used bright colours, simple shapes, and funky patterns. I could have chosen to make the visuals depressing to match the facts, but instead made them interesting and appealing. This much better matches what people might associate with fast fashion, something interesting and new that makes you want to impulsively buy. At this scale, however, these visuals can be overwhelming and help to show how problematic this industry is.
